On oct.9 Class 602 went the african burial ground. It was kind of cruel to sell people like they were nothing. In the 1600's New York was called New Amsterdam. The West Dutch bought slaves from Africa so they can use them for everyday farming. Some Africans were free,some were slaves. The West Dutch allowed Africans to bury their dead in the woods. But for slaves they are allowed to have 12 people with them because they thought the slaves will try to escape. In 1991,many years later, costrution workers were making a gerenal building on top of the burial ground. Nobody knew there were bodies there until they started to dig up bones on the work site. So the people found out about the bones and begged for the constrution to stop. So that is all I know about the A.B.G. Thanks and bye.
